28 weeks Preggers...In the home stretch!!

Sun Mar 1, 2009, 6:00 PM
Well, this week I had my 28 week prenatal checkup and my son, who will likely be named Samuel Ethen, is doing very well and the doc says he is in th 79% percentile for size. What that means is out of 100 babies he is bigger than 78 of them:) This doesn't surprise me because his father is a Russian-American who was 10 lbs at birth and whose other brother and sister were nearly as large. It is no secret that the Russians have big babies, they even hold the record for having given birth to the largest living baby at, I believe, 17 1/2 pounds.

My husband and I have been working on his room and so far we have the walls painted and his airplane themed border on the wall as well. I also bought wooden letter that spell out "SAMUEL" and painted them to match the theme of his room and they will go above his crib.

We have slowly aquired clothes and other things for him but we still need a stroller that includes a baby carrier/car seat and a dresser as well as a baby tub. We will be buying all those big things and we are hoping the baby shower in April will be brining in the rest, or most of what we still need for him.

His due date is May 28th 2009 and I am in the third and final Trimester of the pregnancy. I keep trying to have positive thoughts so the rest of the pregnancy goes well for me and the baby. Wish me luck!

I will update in a few weeks.

10 Weeks Pregnant

Thu Oct 30, 2008, 1:28 PM
Well, my boyfriend (now fiance) of 9 years and I are expecting our first child in late May 2009. So, as you can guess I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and totally, completely miserable.

I've been stricken with severe nausea and vomiting for over a month now, complete with one hospitalization for dehydration. I totally realize the first 3 months are the typically the hardest to get through but I never expected what I am actually going through.

Hopefully in 2 weeks, when my first trimester is over the nausea with slowly fade away and I can actually enjoy my pregnancy. Here's hoping!!!

Anyway, just surviving right now and trying to fit some art in between me and my very close relationship to the porcelain throne, also known as the toilet:)
